Information security is quickly becoming an important aspect of IT, especially in light of recent cyber attacks and the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
There are many solutions we have mentioned on our blog to enhance security and be compliant - however, nothing is as effective as embedding a culture of safety amongst employees within your company. With GDPR coming into play next year, it's probably a good idea to start encouraging best practice from today, to get people into the right mindset (and score a few brownie points from the big boss for “taking initiative”).

It’s vital that employees take care of data and play their part for the company. For example,
printing personal data may seem harmless, after all, who’s going to see the document? But what happens when the printed document is left on the printer tray or on someone’s desk where anyone can pick it up? Worse still, what if it’s left in public, on a train or in a cafe for example?
Suddenly, that harmless print out becomes a problem and a potential data breach.
What should you do?
Find ways to educate your company with the information above - download it, share it or discuss it with department heads who can share the information with their team.
